Diet / Nutrition Planning FAQ
Why do I need to watch my diet if I am already exercising?
A common misconception is that the word diet is synonymous with the word STARVATION. The typical diet plans that most Americans follow go hand in hand with this untruth. People starve themselves to lose unwanted pounds, and then binge and gain all of the weight back (and then some). This is a vicious cycle. Research over the years has shown that most of these diets do not work in the long run.
Webster's primary definition of diet is, "What a person or animal usually eats or drinks; daily fare." That definition mirrors mine. The reason you need a specific diet/nutrition plan is because food is our fuel. It drives all of our physical and mental actions. If the fuel we are taking in is low-grade, our engines (i.e., our brain, muscles, cardiovascular system, etc.) will not perform at peak efficiency. Garbage in equals garbage out. On the other hand, if the fuel we take in is high-grade, we can expect to function at much better levels. This may seem like common sense, but the majority of Americans still have not figured this out. Most people do not understand what and why they should eat.
You need to eat good wholesome foods throughout the day in order for your body to operate optimally. By controlling the foods you take in, you will see increases in your energy levels, your stamina, your performance levels, your mental clarity, and your overall health.
